Family

I'm so blessed to live in Provo right now. How many people get the opportunity to live so close to their family? And really, it doesn't get much closer than the situation I'm in! (Not comfortably, anyway!) Yesterday I went on a walk with my mom, administered the Color Code Test to my brothers and parents, and just spent a lot of time with my family. I loved it! Today I got to do this:Yep, my little brother is now officially an Eagle Scout! As I was looking at this picture, I noticed a few things. First of all, my "little" brothers are both taller than me, and I was wearing 3-inch heels tonight. Not sure I love that. Secondly, I realized how sad I was that neither of my older siblings or their families were here to celebrate with us. I realized that I am so so blessed to be so close to my family and have the opportunity to spend time with them. I'm especially grateful to spend time with my *baby* brothers before they get too grown up and get married and move who knows where.

And speaking of family, I couldn't help but get a picture of myself with my mom and grandma:Seriously, you don't have to wonder where I came from, right? Look at all those knobby cheeks! I love that we look so much alike! It's like I get a glimpse of myself at different ages :)

Hall of Fame

Living in Provo definitely has its advantages. Family, BYU, good shopping, BYU, beautiful mountains and BYU are just a few things I love about being here. (I'll have you know that the first item on the list is clearly the most important to me, not the most repeated item ;]). One of the many advantages we have from living in Utah is that my Dad is here and he gets the Provo newspaper, The Daily Herald. The Herald has been printing BYU basketball posters in segments for the past couple of months. My Dad, being the great person he is, has saved each of these posters and given them to my husband, who is quite possibly the biggest BYU basketball fan on the planet. We've been collecting them, and today we went and laminated all of them. They are now hung in the only hallway of our home, making it, of course, the Hall of Fame. It's honestly pretty sweet. I love it, and it's a great area to hang them in. It doesn't disrupt any of the [cute] decorations, but it really looks great!

This is the view from our door that connects our apartment to my parents' house. Jimmer is the first thing you see! haha! We do love BYU! Go Cougs!!!

A hitch in the plans....

Ever since I found my love for refinishing furniture, I've thought that when I'm not working full time anymore, I'd love to have a little shop where I could refinish furniture and then sell it. Today I realized the problem with that plan: I have a hard time parting with my creations. You've got to see what I did today! It started with this little DI beauty:

And with in a matter of a few short hours, I had transformed it into THIS:

Do you love it?!?! I sure do. Tell me those handles aren't absolutely adorable! I had sucha blast making this! My plan was to put it in my bathroom to help control my hair product mess. Turns out my bathroom is too small to accommodate it. SAD!! So now I have no use for it. DJ suggested I sell it. I probably should. But it's just so dang cute! I hate to part with it. I would rather it go to someone I know, so if any of you want to make me an offer, please do!

Mosiah 2:6

"And they pitched their tents round about...every man having his tent with the door thereof towards the temple."
Yes, this is really our tent, and yes, we really camped out on Friday night to get good seats to the game on Saturday. Trust me, I know what you're thinking. "Was it really worth it???" Depends on what time you had asked me. When we got to the Marriott Center at 6 pm on Friday and realized we were approximately the 100th tent, yes it was definitely worth it. At 2 am when I was still awake and listening to the ridiculously loud and immature freshman in the tent next to us? Not worth it. Listening to a girl talking on the phone at 3 am very loudly outside our tent and explaining to her brother how she has high standards and that's why she's not married (come on, honey, you don't need to make up ridiculous reasons why you're not married. You're probably like 18 1/2. Just relax and stop being so uppity and you'll probably have a better chance of getting married.) NOT worth it. Having to pee so badly at 3:30 am but not having anywhere to do so unless I wanted to go home (and I was NOT willing to walk to my car at 3:30 am) so ending up waiting til 6:30 am and going to the RB? Not worth it. Getting into the Marriott Center at 11:30 am and getting 8th row seats? Worth it. Watching Jimmer live for what is likely my last chance ever? Worth it. Having Keesha and Sean tell us they saw us on TV? Worth it. Watching the Cougars be on fire with their shooting and score 102 points? Worth it. Being able to be there when BYU became MWC Champions and listening to Jimmer, Emery, Magnusson, and Coach Rose talk to us after receiving the Championship trophy? Worth it. Listening to the crowd cheer Brandon Davies louder than anyone else when he cut down his portion of the net? Absolutely worth it.

Oh, and being a part of THIS was totally worth it too. This is a different video than the one I posted to Facebook. Check it out!
