Day 6: Braided-Back Messy Bun, and THE GIVEAWAY!

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm kind of obsessed with braids.  They're such an easy way to spice up a Plain-Jane hairdo!  Today, I started by french-braiding all of my hair (including my bangs) from my natural part on the left side of my head.  I braided around to the back like this:

Then I repeated it on the other side.  (Loose braids, girls, loose!  We don't want to look like we're 5 and our mom did our hair for us!) Where the braids met in the back, I threw my hair in a ponytail:

Next I made it all messy and made it into a bun:

And then I was done!  Can you tell I've had a couple of rough mornings?  It's written all over my exhausted face.  Haha!

Here's what we've got:  

Blofoam: this is a root lifter.  You put it in your hair at the roots while wet, then blow-dry it.  For maximum volume, you'll want to blow-dry upside down or directing your hair the opposite way you're eventually going to style it.  Does that make sense?   I hope so.

W8less Plus:  This is an extra-firm hold hairspray.  It's an aerosol (which, by the way, is really the only hairspray to use.  I only use the old liquid hairsprays with pumps for one thing; getting ink out of clothes.  I'm aware of how un-envrionmentally friendly I am) and it has, well, and extra-firm hold!

Being Undressed:  Okay, perhaps not the most appropriate of names, but it's seriously a great product!  I use it when I do french braids to help keep the flyaways down.  It's also a good pomade for boys' hair (you're welcome, Zac).
