SUCCESS!!! (Summer Dress #1)

Today I decided I was going to try my hand at making some dresses for summer. I love wearing dresses in the summer, and last week when I was shopping for an Easter dress I was having the hardest time finding anything I liked. Plus, almost everything I saw was a.) too short, and b.) expensive. (Yeah I'm aware I'm a cheapskate. I've accepted this.) So today I went to good old Wal-Mart in Lindon. They had a LOT of clearance fabric. I got enough for [more than] three dresses for a total of $9.75. Tonight I made the first of the three. Here's the result:

Nothing says "summer dress" quite like a big floral print and a bow on the back! I love it!!! I didn't have a pattern, and I won't use a pattern for my other dresses either. I'm more of a "throw it and see if it sticks" kinda girl. It took a little over an hour to make and paid a total of $2.25 for it. SUCCESS!!!

  1. YOU ARE SO TALENTED!!! I love it - :)

  2. That is AMAZING, and so, so cute! Can I pay you to make summer dresses for me?? hahaha

  3. I would love to make some dresses for you! It might be a little trickier since you couldn't try it on til it was done and shipped to you... but I'd be willing to give it a shot!
