Latest Project

I saw this online and naturally had to try it for myself. I've been wanting a white board in my kitchen to write myself notes when I'm cooking about what I need to buy because, let's be honest, I never remember once it's actually time to go shopping. I've put off buying a white board for various reasons and now I'm glad I did! All I did for this was buy a big picture frame (this one was originally $55 and I got it for $10. Woohoo!), about 1/2 yard of fabric, and some hot glue. Then I hot glued the fabric to the cardboard that comes in the picture frame, stuck it back in the frame, and voila! I have a cute white board that can actually match my home instead of a big boring white slab on the wall! I bought some self-adhesive magnet strips at Wal-Mart for a dollar (thanks to Nikki for teaching me about those), and attached one to the edge of the frame and one to the marker, and now I'll never have to wonder where the marker went:) Seriously, whoever came up with the idea of writing on the glass of a picture frame for a white board was pretty dang witty. The best part is, I can change the fabric in it whenever I want a new look. For now I've left the picture frame white, but in my new place I'll paint it either brown or black depending on what color of kitchen table I get. Simple, practical, and cute!!!
